What is Translation?

Translation, to my understanding, is an endeavour to glimpse the "most precise" group (or chain) of words to "convert" the original meaning, in the original tongue, to the correspondent meaning in the substitute language. Behind all languages, further behind Babel's Tower, lies the spirit, source of all meanings. Tradução, em meu entendimento, é o esforço para entrever o "mais preciso" grupo (ou cadeia) de palavras, para "levar" o significado original para o significado "mais próximo" na língua substituta. Além de todas as linguagens, mais atrás da Torre de Babel, está o espírito, fonte de todo significado.
